This is not a hard-core construction trip. This trip is designed to include some lite construction work, such as painting and minor repairs on the facilities of the ministries we work with. Half the day is planned to be involved in some ministry work and building relationships with the people we will be serving. Past trips have done relationship building things such as Vacation Bible Schools, food and clothing distribution, inviting people to a local church, praying for families and more. If you sponsor a child in one of the schools we work with in Santo Domingo, we will take time to visit your child at their school.
The Dominican Republic is full of warm, wonderful people that appreciate the help our teams provide on these trips. Besides physically helping and building relationships with the poor, we also make it a point to share God’s plan of Salvation with the people we are serving.
The Dominican Republic is in the tropics, so you can expect temperatures to be in the upper 80s to low 90s during the trip. There is always a chance of an afternoon shower.
We will be staying at our guesthouse in Santo Domingo. We will have wonderful Dominican food. There is a swimming pool there to cool off. And the church we will attend on Sunday is just across the parking lot. We will visit a couple of the orphanages we work with and visit some historical sites. We will spend our last day at a resort.
We hope you will consider joining us and we hope you will invite others to join you. These trips are life-changing for those that go and for those we serve.
