What is Helping Hands Unlimited all about?
We can tell you in one sentence... We are all about serving those in need while sharing God's love with the people we are serving.
We partner with existing local ministries to help them reach their goals of sharing God's love with their neighbors. We try to engage those we serve spiritually, physically, socially, and educationally with the hope of seeing people make personal decisions to accept Christ. We are currently working in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Kenya, and Zimbabwe. Our year-round ministry is to help and support Christian schools and orphanages. We are also involved in building churches and schools, repairing homes, and providing training. We occasionally take short-term teams to help. We are making a difference in people's lives. There are many ways you can help! We hope you will join us in sharing the Son with those we serve!
I tell you the truth, whatever you did for the least of these
brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

Countries Where We Share God's Love
Dominican Republic
Our work began in the DR. We are involved with six Christian schools and two orphanages, and we have built churches and schools. Our Beyond Bethesda program helps older children who have left the orphanages transition into adult life. We are also involved with a Christian radio station, repairing homes, helping people with special medical needs, food distribution, and more.
Haiti
HHU has partnered with the Rachel Project to minister to people in Haiti. A majority of the work involves Biblical training sessions for pastors, training them to become better leaders and shepherds. The goal is to better prepare pastors to reach their country for Christ. The Rachel Project also does sessions for women in the communities it serves and provides consultation for the pastors.
Kenya
Pastor and leadership training with the Rachel Project was our introduction to Kenya. The Rachel Project does multiple training sessions during the year. Pastor training is being done in rural areas. They also occasionally teach in a local seminary. It was through the Rachel Project that HHU was introduced to a local pastor who has a heart for evangelism and children. The Thomas Project is involved in serving underprivileged children in remote villages.
Zimbabwe
Lots of children are suffering from malnutrition and others dying from starvation. It is a problem all over Africa. Helping Hands Unlimited could not stand by and do nothing. In 2023 we opened a Children's Feeding Center in Glen View, Zimbabwe. Besides being fed, the children hear Bible stories and they pray before their meal. The program is working. It is making a difference. Plans are underway to open more feeding centers in 2024.
Bags of Joy
Making A Difference at Christmas
As Christmas approaches, let's remember that it is a time of joy and celebration, but for many, it can also be a time of loneliness and struggle. At Helping Hands Unlimited, we have been working hard to bring hope and joy to those in need during Christmas. We have provided traditional Christmas suppers for 52 orphans at the Bethesda Home for Children in Santo Domingo, distributed food bags to 55 families in Como Quiera (Dominican Republic), and bags of food to lonely, elderly people in the slums of Thicka Town in Kenya, among other places. These acts of charity are not just about providing material support; they are opportunities to share the birth of Jesus and a message of hope and love.
Your support can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most this Christmas. Please consider joining us in spreading joy and compassion this holiday season.
Helping Children
Education in a Christian school is making a difference.
There is little hope for children in poor communities. However, there is a way to bring hope, and that is to provide these children with the opportunity to receive an excellent education in a Christian school.
God has led us to some very poor areas that need help. Our sponsorship program covers registration fees, which not only allows a sponsored child to attend school but also helps keep the doors open to many children in their community.
Besides their education, the children and their families are not only receiving a great education, but they are also experiencing God’s love for them.
Now is the time to say, “I want to make a difference!”
What about children without families?
Orphanages making a difference
Talking about children without hope, there is nothing more depressing than children being left at the door of an orphanage. It sends a horrible message to the child that they are not wanted and they are worthless. What a sad commentary on our society.
God has led Helping Hands Unlimited to help two orphanages that care for over 80 children, from babies to teenagers. HHU helps with some of the basic needs, but we really thrive by providing great educational opportunities for the kids, dental care, opportunities for the kids to attend church camps, birthday celebrations with cake and ice cream, and more. We try to provide them with a normal life.
Government law mandates that children leave when they turn eighteen. Then what happens to these kids? Helping Hands Unlimited began the Beyond Bethesda program to provide a place to stay and develop as they transition to adulthood. Your support can make a huge difference in these children’s lives.
Africa Children's Feeding Program
Feeding program saving lives making a difference
How can you say, "Sorry, we cannot help," when you see children starving to death? That was the situation we found ourselves in. We visited a fledgling feeding program in a rural Zimbabwe community only to hear that after we returned home, they had closed because they ran out of money. The worst part of that message was when it said several children had died after the program closed.
We had to do something!
That something was to talk to friends and come up with some money to reopen the program. We now have three feeding centers in Zimbabwe that are feeding 564 children. With your help, we want to feed more children and tell them about Jesus! Please click on the button for more information.
Helping a Man of God
Making a difference in rural Zimbabwe
This is a weekday photo of some of the members of a small church in Chegutu, Zimbabwe. Their pastor is an inconspicuous man, always working. (He is the fifth person from the left.) Besides being a pastor, he also serves as director and one of two teachers, teaching over 200 children every day in the only school in the area. He doesn't make much money as a pastor, but he teaches without pay because he loves the children. Because of his dedication and his impact on the community, we have an idea. We need your help.
Traditional or Non-Traditional?
Ways to give that makes a difference
As followers of Christ, we are called to be faithful stewards of all God has entrusted to us, not just through traditional tithes but in creative and meaningful ways that reflect His love and generosity. Non-traditional giving opportunities—whether it's donating stocks, real estate, commodities, or even cryptocurrency—allow us to maximize the impact of our resources while supporting the work of God's kingdom. These gifts not only offer significant financial benefits for you, such as avoiding capital gains taxes and receiving charitable deductions, but they also empower ministries to thrive and serve others. We encourage you to explore these options with an open heart, prayerfully considering how God might be calling you to give in new ways. You can learn more about these impactful methods by reading further and discovering how your unique gifts can make a lasting difference for God's glory.
The good news is "God so loved the world..."
He loves you and everyone in the world. He wants each of us to experience His love and accept Him in our hearts. Our goal is to help people make educated decisions to follow Christ. God needs people like you willing to be His hands and feet to share His love with others. Please contact us for some ideas on how you can help.
