Nehemiah Project

Nehemiah Project

HHU works in partnership with the Luz y Vida Church in Santo Domingo to help with an outreach program for their neighbors.  The church is located in one of the oldest and poorest areas of the city.  HHU teams join up with members of the church, to repair homes.  Some are only new roofs. Others include completely tearing down and rebuilding the house The local church spends time sharing with the families being helped.  They are invited to home Bible studies, services, and other activities at the church. The exciting part is seeing people accepting Christ as a result of this outreach program.

Ways to Help

We always appreciate your prayers for this special ministry to reach out to families and elderly people.  We really need your help in two ways.  We also need people interested in going and serving with local church members to make the repairs and minister to those we are helping.

The second way is to give. It takes a minimum of $7,000 a year to repair or rebuild eight to ten houses.  The money goes completely for buying materials.  The work is done by Dominican and American volunteers.  We need your help!
